Overall: A fearless competitor with a game to match, Gillespie has become one of the best guards in the Philadelphia region during the first half of his senior season. Has shown the ability to be a full-time point guard with strong on-ball skills, terrific court vision and the ability to make difficult passes on the money. Strong outside shooter both off the catch and the bounce, and a much-improved creator and finisher as well. Tough-nosed defender who isn't the fleetest of foot but slides well to spots and is strong enough to keep all but the quickest guards in front of him. Gillespie has gone from the most sought-after Division II prospect in the region to a guard that's now being recruited by high-major programs, and his consistently high level of play over the last 6-8 months make it obvious he's a high-level Division I player now.
